Transparency information in TGA and PNG textures, which can be uploaded with the Second Life Viewer, is stored as a grid of grayscale data called an alpha channel. One other difference is, if someone else sends you a snapshot with the latter icon, it'll end up in the Textures folder. This video tutorial shows you how the above steps work in action: Most graphics editors are capable of viewing TGA, and there are some free ones, like FastStone or XnView, which can convert into other formats too. The TGA file format can also be used to upload textures into Second Life. If you go to that directory on your computer, you should see a texture.tga file. Give it a name (it doesn't auto-copy the name of the texture), and save it to a directory. How to use alpha channels and get clothing templates.

Your avatar is a pretty extreme shape so you probably won't find that many Liquid Mesh clothes that could be adjusted to fit your avatar satisfactory but it would be your best hope other than having mesh clothes custom made for your avatar. Collision Bones have been around since SL opened so it is doubtful that LL will get rid of them anytime soon.

Liquid Mesh works by weighting mesh to the Collision Bones instead of the normal avatar skeleton bones.

Liquid Mesh is sort of a hack that LL has warned could be broken at anytime in the future. There is relatively few designers making Liquid Mesh right now. The same thing could be done with the Mesh Deformer that is in beta testing but Liquid Mesh is out now and works in all viewers. With Liquid Mesh you can change the size of the mesh clothing by changing the shape and size of your Second Life avatar even though it is wearing an alpha layer to make it invisible. Normal mesh clothing the size is fixed so you can't adjust the fit. The only mesh clothing right now that might work for such a large extreme shaped avatar would be mesh clothing that is called Liquid Mesh.
